Emma \"2013-01-22<\/a>was able to spend the weekend with us.\u00a0 These visits always help Jake cope so much better.\u00a0 As he began to feel better – there was fun to be had!\u00a0 Some video games,\u00a0movies and\u00a0race cars.\u00a0\u00a0A few posts ago, I mentioned Radio Lollipop. This is the radio station for the hospital, it’s an actual studio where the kids can go up and get on air, the ones that are bed-ridden can call in and request songs, tell jokes, talk to the DJ, and win prizes.\u00a0 Lucky for Emma, she happened to have the song that she and Kate recorded with her and headed upstairs to be “on air”\u00a0 Take a look at her in the booth!\u00a0 It was quite exciting to hear her\u00a0as Jake and I sat\u00a0in his hospital room while she went up and did her thing.\u00a0 And to move on to a totally different subject… I also had a bit of an awakening early\u00a0one morning.\u00a0 Jake’s had a lot of straggly hairs\u00a0that just \"2013-01-21<\/a>wouldn’t let go.\u00a0 In fact, several people have mentioned that I could shave him, that’s what they did with their kids.\u00a0 But he didn’t want that.\u00a0 As I laid in bed with him, I realized that there aren’t many stragglers left.\u00a0 He’s almost perfectly bald… and he’s just beautiful.\u00a0 I’ve been kissing and kissing on\u00a0him more than usual, which I love because I can’t really kiss his sweet face anymore.\u00a0 One of the hardest things for\u00a0the mother of a child with cancer to be told is that she can’t\u00a0kiss her child’s precious face.\u00a0 For fear of germs and bacteria, it’s something that we are constantly reminded not to do.\u00a0 It’s not that I don’t kiss on him much right now, I’m just very, very aware o\"Gracie<\/a>f where, it’s rarely quick and spontaneous.\u00a0 But what I realized in that quiet, dark, still\u00a0morning is that\u00a0it feels so good kisings all over his big,\u00a0sweet, bald head anytime I want!\u00a0 And to move on yet again… one of my best freinds, Michelle,\u00a0has been traveling the road of adoption this past year.\u00a0 I’ve asked many of you to pray for their family’s journey and want share the best news… Michelle and Jimmy traveled to Bulgaria to pick up their baby girl this week and yesterday, Gracie was rescued, she is no longer an orphan.\u00a0 I am so beyond happy for them… thank you friends for praying with me and following their journey.\u00a0 Michelle blogged this scripture and I just have to finish with it… John 14:18\u00a0 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
