As I sit here, my radio is playing in the background as usual, and as usual it’s as though the DJ’s are playing everything just for me.\u00a0 Healer by Kari Jobe is playing and\u00a0reminds me that Jesus is our Healer, I must turn Jake over to him.\u00a0 Jake’s had a hard two days. He’s neutrapenic, he has\u00a0several mouth sores presenting themselves,\u00a0feels blucky, the effects of the Nulasta\u00a0shot make him ache\u00a0all over, and he’s fighting back fever as hard as he can.\u00a0 He’s hedged up past 100 for most of the day\u00a0and a few times to our designated\u00a0101 that signals\u00a0our “Go To Hospital” card, \u00a0but we are pushing the fluids, he’s cooperating, and somehow we get it back down to that 100 mark.\u00a0 He doesn’t want to be admitted any more than we do.\u00a0 He understands.\u00a0 At four, he understands what this all means, and that breaks my heart.\u00a0 He knows that if we go, he gets accessed, we “sleep over” there (as he puts it), and we stay for days.\u00a0\u00a0For cancer kids, a neutrapenic\u00a0fever admit means we stay a minimum\u00a0of 48 – 72 hours while we wait on a petri dish to give us permission to leave.\u00a0 We should have left already but just as we get ready to head out, his temp\u00a0comes down a smidgen.\u00a0 We could really use some prayers because it\u00a0looks like we will end up in the ER tonight.\u00a0 If we can just make it till 8am, we can go to our trusted 14th Floor Clinic side of TCH and get a direct admit to the 9th in West Tower.\u00a0 Otherwise, we go to the\u00a0ER for hours… with all of the flu and viruses and stuff that he can not be exposed to.\u00a0 Please pray that we can hold out over night… or better yet, that this completely breaks.\u00a0\u00a0 She sings, “You hold\u00a0my world in your\u00a0hands”.\u00a0 Oh, how true! So right now please pray with us… Father, PLEASE, I pray you take this from him!\u00a0 Amen<\/p>\n
