\"\"<\/a>Good news… we\u00a0moved from the 14th Floor to the\u00a09th Floor this afternoon!!!!\u00a0\u00a0I never unpacked,\u00a0so when Nurse Esther came in with the news I said, “Great… are you talking 30 minutes\u00a0or a couple of hours cuz I’m ready, I don’t have to pack anything, it’s all bagged up”.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I think I startled her\u00a0when she said about 30 minutes and I gave a “woo hoo”!\u00a0\u00a0 Then I\u00a0had to appologize and let her know that it had nothing to do with her… she was great.\u00a0 And she really was wonderful,\u00a0but can I tell you the relief??!\u00a0 And I have to say the 9th Floor\u00a0really is a different floor in so many ways.\u00a0 There is a homeiness here.\u00a0 The kids play in the halls differently here.\u00a0The family room is full of families and treats and Thanksgiving dinner\u00a0brought by patients of the past who\u00a0have lived this life. \u00a0There is a sense of family\u00a0here.\u00a0 There is a familiarity since the children are “regulars”.\u00a0 Walking through the doors and onto the floor there was an immediate comfort in seeing\u00a0the nurses that we are getting to know better and better with each stay.\u00a0 The pity party of yesterday\u00a0is over and today is Thanksgiving… and we are thankful.\u00a0 As scripture states… Give thanks always for all things to God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ\u00a0 … \u00a0Ephesians 5:20<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em> <\/strong>We are thankful that TCH exists to care for our\u00a0baby.\u00a0 We are thankful that there is hope for Jake.\u00a0 We are thankful that we have him here, with us, right now.\u00a0 We are thankful that there is treatment and there are those who have the knowledge and the heart to\u00a0heal.\u00a0 We are thankful for our family and all of our children.\u00a0 Although much is centered around Jake right now, we are so very thankful for all\u00a0of\u00a0them.\u00a0 We are thankful for the celebration of\u00a0Meghan’s 26th birthday\u00a0tomorrow and we are thankful to celebrate\u00a0Ryan’s 9th birthday on\u00a0Saturday.\u00a0 We are thankful for friends and family that have surrounded us and kept our world in motion these past weeks… without you, where would we be?\u00a0 We are thankful for our church and the love and letters and support they have showered us with. We are thankful for all of those we know and those we’ve never met who continue to rally around Jake.\u00a0 We are thankful that our precious little boy is bringing people together and reminding us that cancer strikes anyone, anytime. It happens to the boy next door –\u00a0it’s real and it’s aweful.\u00a0 Yet in the midst of this struggle there is beauty in the love and kindness and goodness\u00a0that comes at\u00a0the most unexpected times.\u00a0 We are\u00a0thankful for the gift of life that God grants each one of us.\u00a0\u00a0We Are Thankful!\u00a0 And our hearts are full… our bellies too!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
