Hi Mardon,

This is Charon - I am one of the organizers of the CNCF Bake Sales held at TCH - we have met before. Just wanted you to know I am thinking about you and your family and praying for Jake's scans this week. I also pray for your strength as this is tough on us Moms. I get emails from Avante and was happy to see the picture of you and Jake and the announcement of your upcoming Mirror, Mirror Makeover! I love and appreciate every step I see to bring more awareness to childhood cancer!

Take care and hang in there this week,
Charon Edgington

You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word. Psalm 119:114 NIV
Do not be afraid, for the Lord is powerful, He is mighty to save, His love endures forever and He raises up the wounded. Lord I lift Jacob's mom and family to you. Give them strength and continue to walk with them through this journey. I declare in your sons name Jesus Christ that Jacob is strong, his body in protected and you have already removed any disease from his body in Jesus Name. I thank you Lord for all things, the good, the blessed, and the bad. For the storms of life is when we can see you clearly, we feel your righteous right hand holding us up. Continue to hold Jacob up and his loving family. Wrap your loving arms around them and let them know that you are with them in Jesus Name I pray.

I just wanted to tell you that everyone is still wishing/hoping/praying and thinking of all of you often! You are loved by many, and know we all look forward to hearing of the days Jacob is 100% back to his old wild and crazy self! We also look forward to the day your household returns to just the normal madness that is involved in raising those amazing kids! :)

But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV

I read your blog today and saw this scripture on biblegateway.com. I couldn't help but know that the Lord showed me his message. You are blessed in His sight, through your struggles and your pain you are the Lord's tree, planted by the water who is Jesus Christ, for He is the only living water in us, that sends out his roots by the stream. Jesus in us does not give us fear when heat comes; His holiness is pure, and He is always their for us, He gives us no worries when a year of drought comes our way. He sustains us and brings forth fruit in us and through His blessed fruit comes forth faith that is strenthen.

I will be praying for your friend and her son and family. But I knew the Lord sent her to you, to show you how strong you are in Him. She your friend has endured much, you saw that in her, but have faith and know that the Lord is with her as He is with you and your son.

He is building your faith and bringing you whole. The deepest part about cancer for me is that it always reminds me of the price the Lord made with His one and only son. When our love one is in pain and we are grieving the Lord knows our sadness. Rest in HIs peace and when you see someone in need and in pain, know that the Lord has put a mighty powerful son, His perfect son in you for all to see. By His wounds you are healed. Continue on the path the Lord has for you and your family. Stay strong and know that He is God.

Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.
8 I cling to you;
your right hand upholds me. Psalms 63:7-8

In you Lord we see your perfect will, your shining star, your glory raining down.
We give thanks to you for all things, you are in everything, you are the beginning
and the end.

Lord your right hand is so strong, healing powers come through it, you uphold us with it,
we lean on your tower of glory that rains down us each and every day. You see what is before us and what is at the end of us. You are with us where ever we go.

Lord I lift Jacob up to you, I see your right hand holding him up high above the clouds.
I see Jacob strong, getting stronger every day. Continue to lift him up to you for it is when
we are closest to you that we see you, your healing power radiates through.

We trust in you each day and I pray for Jacob's family as you walk with them each day,
may their steps be light may you hold them in the fold of your garment in Jesus Name I pray.

In all things God works for good to those who love him, adore him, follow him and trust him. I saw one of many miracles to come reading the blog today. Part of Jacob's lung was collapsed but now it is healed. What a might God we have, for he gives us insight to the small things so we can really see the big things that will be to come. The Lord is increasing faith, he is planting us upon his rock of salvation. His mighty power and light shines so brightly, how can darkness come.

May Jacob rest this week in your loving hands Jesus, may he know that you are with him. May you rock him to sleep and may his body continue to heal and prepare to what is to come. For we know your plans Lord, plans to prosper Jacob, not to harm him, plans to give him a future and a hope. I declare this for Jacob in Jesus Name. Your mighty power Lord shines through Jacob for all to see and may the strength of you precious Holy Spirit lay in Him, strenthening him all the days of his life in Jesus Name.

Father God we know that you are God and your power is a mighty power. A power to save the lost, to heal the wounded, to love the broken hearted. I pray in Jesus Name that Jacob is healed today. For his recovery is long your strength is never ending in him. You hold him up with your righteous right hand, your holy spirit is in him, with him all the days of his life. May your holy spirit of Jesus give him rest today, strengthen his bones take hold of his heart and keep him steady.

I pray for the doctors and nurses today. May their fingers be your fingers guiding the instruments where they need to go. I delcare in your sweet name Jesus that all the cancer, tumor sickness is removed from his body today. May your son Jesus be with all of them, guiding them. As the doctor stands on his feet for 12 hours may his feet be your feet, strong and a tower that does not fall. May the doctor rest in you today as he performs your miracles today in Jesus Name we love you so and we honor you all the days of our lives.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1: 7 When Jesus was carrying the cross down the via dela rosa, his body was bruised and worn, but His mind was strong and courageou. When I see fear or am consumed with fear I see Jesus walking down, carrying the cross. It is not what we see on the outside, but what the Lord is doing on the inside. For God's work is always behind the curtain, unseen but we have to draw on our faith and call upon Him, who gives us strength.

I lift sweet Jacob up to you Lord. For his body is wrecked with fear and he feels it from the tops of his head to the bottom of his feet. But we know by your word that you did not give us the spirit of fear but your Holy Spirit who is filled with all the gifts from above, the gift of love, patience, kindness, self control.

In Jesus name I declare Jacob to be courageious through this time. Your Holy Spirit lays inside him, strengthing him day to day. Pour your raise on him and glorify him for others to see your glory in Jesus Name.

"Jesus Calling" today's devotional
Softly I announce My presence. Shimmering hues of radiance tap gently at your consciousness, seeking entrance. Though I have all Power in heaven and on earth, I am infinitely tender with you. The weaker you are, the more gently I approach you. Let your weakness be a door to My Presence. Whenever you feel inadequate, remember that I am your ever-present Help. Hope in Me, and you will be protected from depression and self-pity. Hope is like a golden cord connecting you to heaven. The more you cling to the cord, the more I bear the weight of your burdens; thus, you are lightened. Heaviness is not of my Kingdom. Cling to hope, and My rays of Light will reach you through the darkness.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12

Lord I lift Jacob and his family up to you. I declare Jacob is strong in you, your son
has overcome the grave, I pray Jacob draws into you, pour out your spirit unto him and his family. Cloathed them during this time of trials. We stay faithful to you Lord Jesus,

I pray and thank God for Jacob's parents. As I seek the Lord daily, I am so in awe of the power the Lord diplays in you. Your strength and love that you surround Jacob helps me to be a better mother to my three boys. May the Lord bless you all this coming year and His healing hands continue to flow through Jacob by the Lord's Holy Spirit. May you rise above all challenges and as I ponder over all that is ahead I see a vision of fields of pasture, children running through the fields holding Jesus hands. As you walk through this year and through the pastures of your life I know Jesus is holding your hands and leading you through, in Jesus Name.

As the soldies was on his horse he saw Jesus walking with his disciples. He stopped and told Jesus that his son was sick. He asked Jesus if he could go and heal his boy. Jesus told the man on the horse, "I tell you the truth, at this very hour he is healed". The soldier and his horse was running home and a man stopped him and shouted out, "your boy is healed". For we know that if we have faith as small as a mustard seed our Lord will move that mountain that we ask of Him.

I thank you Lord for your son, who was born on this day to save us all from our sins who believe in you. I thank you for all circumstances for when our faith is tested their we see your Glory and your face, for it's only that moment when we have to be picked up by you that we will be aware that you have taken us from the pit and placed upon your rock of salvation in Jesus Name.

Praying for Jake and his family for tomorrow. Trust God with your whole heart, soul and mind. Lean not on your own understanding but know that the Lord is a mighty God, a God of salvation, a God of refuge and a God of strength. For we call upon Him our Lord for His glory will rain on this day and always. He will uphold Jake with His righteous right hand. He will lift him on high. Jesus called Peter to walk on the water with Him and the Lord is also calling us to walk on the water with Him. Where two or more are gathered there I am also, saith the Lord

I pray healing over you Jake, Father God veil your loving healing hands upon Jake today. May the doctors and nurses be your servants today, may their minds be sound and with confidence. May your healing hands of Jesus cradle Jake today, so he can rest in you. May his body become your strength, may the blood of Jesus Christ flow through his veins and may your healing power start from the tops of his head to the bottom of his feet.

May his family rest in you Lord and know that you are God. All things work for your goodness and your righteousness. Jeremiah 29:11 I over Jake and declare that the Lords words be honey to his body and strength to his bones, for I know the plans I have for saith the Lord, plans to prosper you Jake, not to harm you, plans to give you a future and hope.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him

Precious family, We Praise God as we lift Jake to the Lord God for complete healing. Your Aunt Lynda McQuade shared your web site with me and I have shared it on Facebook for people to gather together and lay Jake before the throne for healing and strength. May God continue to bless you and your family with His love and comfort as He works through the hospital staff to conquer this nasty illness. May Our Father in heaven help you to continue to praise Him in all things, knowing He is the Most High God, the Healer. May the doctors and nurses have the wisdom and knowledge that comes from God above and surpasses all human understanding.
91:4 He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings shall you trust: his truth shall be your shield and buckler.

Mardon, Henry, Jake, and the kiddos:

Just wanted to let you each know that I love you. My heart is heavy for you all each and every day, but I know that God is a God of miracles. I'm not sure what his plan for Jake is, but I know He is with him every step of the way. I pray for joy, peace, and strength for each of you during this extremely difficult time. I cannot even begin to imagine what ya'll are going through, but I can continue to uplift you in my prayers.

Jake is an encouragement even in his "trying" days. Each day I look at the blogs being written, I am reminded to be grateful and thankful for all that I have. Not to grumble about the small things. It's amazing how a sweet little 4 year old can remind me of this.

You and Henry are such wonderful parents. Jake truly has the best.

With all my love,

Hey Jake, This is Mrs. Musick from John Wesley. My son was very, very sick when he was four, too, and spent a lot of time at Texas Children's. He also had to give blood and hated the shots and yucky meds he had to take. He would sit on my lap and once the nurse told him how many vials they needed, he would choose the vials, the needle, and the vein and that helped him feel in charge. He also made his own "squeezer" to hold and we sang his brave song: I am Ben. I am Ben. I am brave. I am brave. I can take the needles. I can take the yucky medicine. I am Ben. I am brave. You can sing it, too, with your name of course. Just like at school you take the melody of "Are You Sleeping" and change the words. I love you kiddo and Jesus is watching over you. Mrs. Musick
P.S. Ben is now 15 years old, still hates giving blood and still tells the nurse which needle, vein and vials to use.

Comatose for two months after a terrbile virus and woke up paralyzed from the neck down. Doctors said I might not wake up and if I did, I probably would have to live in a nursing home. I am here to say that all of the prayers have brought me back and with therapy I can, walk, type, cook. etc. So I know prayer and faith works. Jake is darling. I know God has a great plan for him.

My condolence goes to the Hickory family these are the times where our faith if put to the text, do we trust our creator (Jehovah) to help us cope with situation like this and truly believe he will give us courage to accept his will. It is very sad to see our young one go through such a horrible sickness. I am a person that is very confident that in a short time we will be living in our flesh the promises our God (Jehovah) has made. Isaiah 33:24(and no residence will say: "I am sick"...) soon to be seen by those that have faith in the true God Jehovah.

This other verses have always help me through, in my though times and I am sure can help you with this trial you are going through Isaiah 41:10-13, please read them and together set a prayer letting Jehovah knows how you feel and be specific, one thing though use his Name do not use titles such as LORD, FATHER or such.

You will see how he will answer your prayers giving you inner peace and knowing that in this situation he is the only person that can help us go through this hard time.

Get to know Jehovah he is the God of our consolations and you will experience the greatest joy a human can experience. I know you believe in God, but in this times of trials you need to show him your faith is true to him. First thing is by refering to him by his personal name and then doing what John 17:3 advise for all us humans to do.

I will pray to Jehovah to help you out and for Jake to be ok.

Dear Jake's Family,

I am a mentor mom at MOPS, same group as Mardon, and I met you last year already. I have been so saddened to hear that you are all going through this extremely tough time. I admire your faith and trust in God's power, and I am praying constantly for you and your little Jake, for complete healing and for that as quickly as possible, and for continued strength and courage for all of you. May you feel God's presence beside you and lifting you each and every day. My husband is a medical physicist, who deals with radiation treatments. I know Jake is doing chemo right now, but if you ever get to a point needing radiation, my husband would be happy to talk to you if you want something explained there. He is not a doctor, but knows about the treatment planning and machines that do that.

Take heart that God loves you and that many, many folks are coming along side you in prayer and support!

I just read every word of your blog. I even read it aloud to my husband. Through tears I type - unsure what to say or what to do. You and your family have been in our prayers daily (several times a day). I have added Jake to our prayer list at church too. I am around the corner and at the school every day. Please do not hesitate to ask for ANYTHING!
I pray for your strength and endurance during the days ahead.

Hi Jake, and family

We learned about you from your mom's cousin Heather Stokke. She is my sister in law. We have been thinking about you often, and praying for you. We live in Terrace, British Columbia, Canada. Maybe your mom can show you on a map. Ethan is 12 and Haley is 10. We are hoping when you are all better you might come visit Canada. Come in the winter and our big husky dog Wilma will pull you really fast on the sled through the snow. We could sled down the hills, that's fun too. Last winter Ethan built a really cool snow fort-igloo. He would love to build another one with you. If you want to see some pictures of fun in the snow, I'd be happy to send them by email. I know it's not much fun in the hospital. I hope you feel better really soon, and get to go home soon. Nancy, Ethan and Haley

Dear Jake's mom and dad,

My name is Marta Green and I learned of Jake from one of your church members who also work with me at NRG/Reliant. I wanted to let you know how much your words have touched my heart, When I saw a picture of Jake, I couldn't believe such a beautiful little boy would have this kind of challenge so early in life.

I have three grown sons. John, my youngest, is my special needs child. He is a high functioning Asperger and when he was younger had to have several surgeries and a procedure to lengthen his leg 3 inches lest he face amputation so he would be able walk. During this time, he needed 24/7 care and I was blessed to able to take care of him. We fought against infections and pain management, medicine charts and sterile cleaning of pin sites, doctors, hospitals and X-rays. Physical therapy and learning to walk again more than once.

As mothers, we would do anything for our sons. Please know that my family will be praying so very hard for Jake and your family too! May god's loving presence surround your family always! May God bring comfort to Jake through every step of this journey!

Truly and sincerely,

Marta Green

Mardon and Henry...
I will continually pray for peace and comfort. I know its hard and trying and so confusing and your faith and patience and emotions are going to be tested like they've never been tested before. I can promise you that amongst all this fight and worry, there will be good moments!! Moments when Jake will feel good enough to play and laugh and be himself...that will give you the greatest joy to see him happy!! None of this is fair, none of this is easy, none of this is comforting...its devistating and overwhelming, but I can assure you that God is listening, God is working miracles, God is there every step of the way. The road is never easy, but He never said it would be. I just pray that you both are able to grow more confident in this situation and are able to obtain some type of ease.
And that little Jake... Man, he is a cutie!!! I know I've never met him, but my heart loves him just the same. He is SUCH a hero in my book!! The kid is so amazing and inspiring to me!!! He is four and is taking chemotherapy... Seriously, it doesn't get any more inspiring than that!!! I know he has some super cool hair right now, but Omg he is going to be the CUTEST baldy EVER!!! you just wait and see if that killer smile doesn't just get a million times more noticing!!
My heart holds a very special place for you, Jake!!! :)
Mardon and Henry, you have an AWESOME son!!! :)
Love yall and big hugs to all of you!!!
Love, Dana
